No, seriously, I do love reading!
Anyyyyways... I saw similar photographs like this on photosig.com and always wanted to do that but I always end up forgetting and tonight I finally remembered... Atleast one of my filters have a use... teehee. All you need is a book, any kinda round colored glass and lighting. I used my table lamp for light, used the english version of Ramayana for the book. Then in photoshop, I did the color cast and upped a the saturation just a smidge.
Enough yacking, I should hit the hay, have an early day tomorrow.

We took the preschool/daycare kids to a private home on for a "water playday" they had water slides and kiddy pool, play houses, bounce houses, pony rides... The kids enjoyed themselves very much! They were so exhausted and some of them zonked out on the bus. The teachers were pretty pooped too =P. As usual my third eye was extremely busy.
This is Honey... the pony the kids got to ride on... she's a sweety!

So blogger is doing some new stuff so I thought I'd check it out... I want to change that green thingie.. it's bugging me, I want to put up a pic of the Astoria Megler Bridge I took up on that spot but blogger apparently is still working on some stuff so I can't =(. So for a while it's going to be green and grey, I'll prolly lose it and revert back to my old one... heh.

I took this pic from my fire escape steps around 9ish today...
I'm pretty proud of myself for this, not because it's all oooish and aaaish artistic picture... But it was handheld... with a big sigma 70-300mm lens, the low lights, manual control and all that good stuff. What am I gonna do when I can't use my hands anymore??? I hardly use my tripod, although I should use it from time to time so it would take the strain away from my wrist (damn laptops and keyboards).
The day I cannot use my hands and go blind is when I become a worthless pile a shit.

My sis in law gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on the 7th of this month. We went to see him today at the hospital... He came out a week early and that thru c-section. Mom and son are doing fine and so is the father.
The lil dude held my finger... my finger looks like an old tree branch or something lol...

Obviously I had idle hands and they decided to kidnap a small bowl of cherries for my one purpose (other than eating)...
What I learnt is that... Cherries are not that good looking, they taste good, but they don't exactly look great when photographed.. perhaps I should go get the yellowy kind...
My setup was basic... I just wanted a good picture for my portfolio.
The first one I took it on the dinning table, I used the table placemat and found a tiny brown basket, wanted to use some sort of leaf and got tiny flowers to go with it... No flash, only natural daylight... I put water color filter on it, was going for the artsy fartsy deal anyways...
This isn't exactly my favorite still life pic...
The 2nd picture is my usual still life with a mirror and my bro's black t-shirt. While I was tryna get a good picture my kitty Tijo and my puppy Maya were fighting like... well, cats and dogs, I saw Tijo slap Maya like a crazy chick slapping a guy in a stupid Indian movie so I had to put them on time out. (Evil cackle). Anyways back to the pic... It's dark and shiny, just the way I like it... I like this better than the one above... But it feels like it's missing something.. hmmmmmmmm!!! I'll just try some other fruit. Conclusion; all that tastes well does not photograph well.

I can't play chess even if my life depended on it... my mind is too simple to grasp the damn game. I took this at the daycare, one of the kids there brought the set to play... loved the colors :D. I wanted to add these pics to my portfolio but the stupid printer is being a dummy... I figured out what's wrong with it... the blue inks are not printing out properly.. its all gritty and comes in lines... As long as I don't print anything blue or purple the photos are great.. grrr!!! I gotta replace the print head... It's about 99 bucks, hmmm.
